I hope I've identified the two large owls in this sheet correctly, but the other two present a problem. The artwork is rather stylised, but I think the third perched owl is intended to be Tengmalm's because of its large rounded head. The species is a scarce breeding resident in Turkey - YIKAT/RRG - Birds of Prey & Owls of Turkey. The flying bird has a prominent white eye-brow which I consider indicates the artist indended to portray the Little Owl, a common bird in Turkey. Does anyone have any further comments about these owls? Here's my summary of responses.
