At the end of 2006, Bolivia issued 4 stamps apparently showing birds from the departments of Pando and Santa Cruz, but the two birds chosen for Pando were not on the bird list for Bolivia, and one had inaccurate colours. Earlier in 2007, four more stamps were issued showing birds of La Paz and Santa Cruz again. Scientific names were on 3 of these, though the Andean Condor was captioned "Opisthocomus hoazin", and another species not on the Bolivian list was included.
Amazingly, a further 14 stamps were issued as shown above, a pair for each of the following departments: Beni, Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, Oruro, Pando, Potosi and Tarija. The stamps all have apparently accurate scientific names, and all 14 species are native to Bolivia. Two of the species first appeared on early Bolivian stamps, while the King Vulture appeared on a 1998 stamp. The Rufous-browed Peppershrike is new for my collection, though it has appeared on a stamp from Bhutan.
