This unusual pair of stamps features Seemann's Balaka Palm (Balaka seemannii) which is endemic to Fiji. Stamps Fiji has an interesting feature about the issue.

Luckily for us collectors of birds on stamps, the designer has included a small image of Orange-breasted Myzomela (Myzomela jugularis) perched in the foliage. This is also endemic to Fiji and has appeared previously on stamps issued in 1968 and 1969 which I do not have.
