A correspondent in Latvia sent me a set of 4 stamps commemorating the 800th Anniversary of Cesis town, pointing out the small images of birds on 3 of them as shown above. Details of the set, issued on 7 April, 2006, may be seen on the Latvian Post web site. He had been informed of the species by the artist: Edgars Folks.
