This challenging set arrived courtesy of a correspondent in the Netherlands. None of the stamps gives the scientific name of the bird shown. I've used Jan Ribot's site to help with my identifications. The seven species marked * are new for my collection, but two of the species have featured previously on Surinam stamps: White-chinned Sapphire and Spangled Cotinga.

If anyone has any further views on the identification of the birds on these stamps, please let me know.

Jan Ribot has informed me that the bird I identified as Blackish Nightjar looks most like a Great Potoo (Nyctibius grandis) which typically perches like the extension of a vertical tree stump. Also, the Kite is actually Slender-billed Kite (Rostrhamus hamatus) because it shows no white on its tail, which is also shorter than the Snail Kite's.
