Surinam has continued its long series of bird stamps with this fine pair, which was sent to me by a friend in the Netherlands.

The local name of the higher value is "Swampufowru". A search for this turned up Jan Ribot's valuable site on the birds of Surinam, which gave the scientific name of "Donacobius atricapillus". Here's a good page on this species which is new on stamps.
