This set continues the annual series of splendid sets that started in 2001, and adds 6 new species to my collection: 3 Tinamous (Red-legged, Variegated and Cinereous), Little Chachalaca, Marail Guan and Swallow-wing. The images are all taken from "Birds of Suriname" by Francois Haverschmidt. The designer has carelessly chosen the same image to illustrate both Great and Little Tinamous, so the latter does not appear on stamps. The Collared Puffbird image is the same as the one on the Surinam 2002 triangular stamp.
This set brings the total of indigenous species on stamps for this country to 133.
