This interesting set of definitive stamps has added two more species to my collection (the 2 warblers). There are a few unfortunate errors. The lowest value states that it shows Goldcrest (Regulus regulus), but the face markings and the golden patch on the neck indicate Firecrest (Regulus ignicapillus). A more obvious but similar error occurs on the 4th stamp which clearly shows Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) despite the name on the stamp. The next stamp shows a Red-headed Bunting (Emberiza bruniceps), a species likely to appear only as a vagrant in Turkey, as it breeds no closer than NE Iran. The closely related Black-headed Bunting (Emberiza melanocephala) is a common bird there and would have been a better choice for my collection.
These stamps will be added to my main collection pages at the end of January.
