Bird Life International has been responsible for several sets of stamps in recent years which draw attention to endangered species. This particular set shows some of Vietnam's threatened and endemic partridges and pheasants (Galliformes).

Most have appeared on previous Vietnamese stamps, but Lophura hatinhensis is new.
